Small Business Goals

Thursday, June 30, 2022

As most of y'all know I own a small business that makes tees, hoodies, mugs, tumblers, jewelry, etc inspired by fictional worlds, feminism, and fast horses! I actually just added the last pillar.

This tee pictured is in the Summer Court collection which is based on Sarah J. Maas' A Court of Thorns and Roses series. We are officially licensed with her, so no copyright worries as all designs are approved by her team!

Anyway, I wanted to talk about my small business goals.

I started this in the spring of 2020. And then lost my job.

I really wanted to focus on barrel racing and my horses, but there also needs to be a revenue stream to pay for things like trucks, horse trailers, farriers, feed, etc. And so I used to make custom onesies and thought I'd revive my talents in that arena. (see what I did there ;)

I feel like I finally found my groove of what areas I wanted to focus on making merch in at the end of 2021. Now my focus is on fictional worlds (tv, movies, and books), feminism, and I recently re-added the western collection because I have so many cute designs and need to share them with the world!

My ultimate goal is that I can turn over the manufacturing to employees one day and only do the design work which I could do from anywhere. And then focus on my barrel racing. We are a long ways from that, but we get closer every single day so that's amazing!

My current goal is to settle into these higher numbers of consistent sales so that people aren't waiting three to four weeks before their item ships. Since it's just me making everything and we do made to order it has gotten harder as the numbers going out have increased. It's definitely a good problem to have!

I also have a facebook group of small business friends if y'all wanna join. The link is on this page. Check it out! Let's support one another.

You can find my small business here.

Love y'all!
